The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially begun its operations, and the qualification match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans is underway. The victor of this match will advance unimpeded to the championship game, while the loser will have another opportunity to advance on Friday when the second elimination round takes place.
Lahore will be looking to bounce back after suffering a disheartening loss to their bitter rivals, the Karachi Kings, in their most recent matchup. Lahore will aim to prove they are worthy of winning the championship. Regarding the group stages, Qalandars were the side to beat because they finished first in the standings with seven wins and three losses over their ten matches.
Conversely, Multan will be determined to sustain their winning streak after claiming triumphs against Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in consecutive matches. The Sultans have been one of the most consistent teams in the league throughout the last few years, and they will be aiming to make it to the final for the third season in a row this coming year.
The championship game between these two teams occurred the year before when Lahore emerged victorious to capture their first PSL title. The two teams faced each other at the same level of the competition a year ago, and Multan Sultans emerged victorious, advancing to the all-important final by their victory.
Here today’s PSL 8 schedule:
